Trust us, we know! A lot has been done in that time, both on the curve editor and many other important things. We are working hard on the curve editor and will keep doing so until it is in your hands. It will be in the next major release. You can read some updates to the progress here:

We have been slowed by some fundamental features that were needed, but unfortunately took a lot of effort. More about both the progress and the slowdown was mentioned in this thread. I understand that may be frustrating to hear, it is certainly frustrating for us as well. However, this is not the same situation as previous releases

we are not going to do another release without the curve editor. We are holding to our guarantee that the curve editor will be in the next version. As for how far away it is, most of the team has finished up their other necessary efforts and have been working on the curve editor. We hope to start the next beta, containing the curve editor, in a month or so.
