  • Spine binary export to UE4 crash on 3.6.34

Hello,

Our animator updated her spine version to 3.6.34 today and unfortunately newly exported binary files from Spine to UE4 crashes the engine. If we use JSON exports it works fine. Before the upgrade everything was OK. Furthermore, spine won't allow us to downgrade to older version.

Is there anyway to downgrade? Because this bug broke our production pipeline.

Have you updated your spine-ue runtime to match the new editor version?

You can try downgrading by exporting to JSON with nonessential checked, then go to an older version of Spine and do Import Data.

Worst case you can look in the Spine backup folder and find the first version before upgrading to 3.6.34. The backup files are saved with the version in the name. Ideally of course you update your runtime to the latest and it works properly, or if you are at the latest then we will fix the crash bug.

Please also make sure you copy the latest spine-c to the spine-ue4 plugin as per the README.
