"Open only single instance" expected behaviour?

What is this option meant to do?

It doesn't appear to make any difference whether I have it checked or not.

I'm unsure of this setting is bugged. Hopefully Nate will able to shed some light on it when he is back.

I've renamed it to make more sense. When opening a .spine file by double clicking or from the command line, if checked then it will open in an existing Spine instance. This isn't supported on Mac, where it always reuses an existing Spine instance. The setting is hidden on Mac.
