  • spine 4.2.04-beta, An unexpected error has occurred on macOS 10.13.6

Thanks for trying. It's a frustrating error. A couple of questions:

  1. Do you have any sort of antivirus/firewall programm installed on your Mac? If so, which one and what version.
  2. Can you run other Spine Editor versions, like the latest 4.1?

With that out of the way, please try the following:

  1. Make a copy of the folder <user home folder>/Library/Application Support/Spine/
  2. Delete the folder
  3. Start Spine and try to run the 4.2-beta Editor version
  4. Post the error log here if it doesn't work. You can find it in <user home folder>/Library/Application Support/Spine/spine.log

Sorry, this is really hard to debug for me, as I can not reproduce it on my machines. Thanks for your help.

Sorry for the late feedback. I uninstalled the anti-virus scanning software that may affect spine and restarted the computer. When I started spine, it crashed. I entered the code you gave. This is the result. I don’t know if I correctly understood the operation process you requested.

I can run any version of spine except version 4.2, I tried reinstalling spine, but still can't run version 4.2

1-Do you have any sort of antivirus/firewall programm installed on your Mac? If so, which one and what version?
Not any antivirus or Firewall.

2-Can you run other Spine Editor versions, like the latest 4.1?

Sorry , I have not any folder called Spine inside of (Application Support) :/ Not sure if Im looking wrong... I,ve looked everywhere.

The "Spine" folder under "Application Support" is where user files are stored and can also be accessed from Spine 4.1 as follows:

    1. Open the Spine settings window via the Spine menu:
    2. Press the Browse button in the Application->Files->Backups section:
    3. This will open the folder where the backups are stored. This folder is located under Application Support/Spine, so you should be able to see the contents of the Spine folder by going up the hierarchy.

Could you try to find the Spine folder this way?

    Hello Misaki.

I did find the Spine folder in that way thanks... I did the steps you told me (erase folder and start Spine 4.2):
Spine crashed still... Here I send the Log file:

    spinelog.zip
    1kB

    Thanks 🙂

Thanks, the culprit seems to be this:
cannot load 'libspine-editor64.dylib' (load command 0x80000034 is unknown)

Both of you are running very old macOS versions, Sierra (10.12) and High Sierra (10.13). It seems that the libspine-editor64.dylib is depending on a system library that is not available in these macOS versions.

I will look into remedying this. Could you tell me why you are still on such outdated macOS versions? we will have to drop support eventually, since Apple is making a lot of changes to macOS in each, which makes supporting older versions harder and harder.

Please try in 4.2.05-beta, available now! It has changes by Mario that should fix this.

Wow Amazing! Works perfect! You team are a machine 🙂

Works super on Mac 10.13.6 (High Sierra)

    Many thanks 🙂
