  • Graph curves are hard to use

Hi guys

I don't understand how to use the new graph system.. it's really hard to grab individual points and zooming in doesn't help :wounded:

Is there a setting I am missing? Ideally when I zoom in, the graph curves would some how average out horizontally, allowing me to see the the curves more clearly. Currently we just zoom in super close on some arbitrary point in the graph. :tear:

Thanks for the help

If you have deactivated Auto, try activating it again. For more control when zoom, try alt+drag to zoom the X and Y axes separately.

In the 4.1 beta you can use the Curves view, which is very similar to the old graph in 3.8.

oooooh! ALT + DRAG did the trick! I kinda wish that was the default when pressing the "zoom timeline to show all keys" button

Thanks Nate :grinteeth:

Great!

The timeline zoom slider and the button next to it only adjust the X axis zoom. To adjust both axes, click the Frame button. If Auto is active, Spine will zoom both axes for you as the curves change, so you always have a decent view of the curves without needing to manually zoom. This is often what you want.

ooohh! Damn been using spine for 4 years and still haven't found out all the tricks..

Frame and Auto are convenient, can we get that for the DopeSheet too ? 🙂

The dopesheet only zooms horizontally, so the button next to the zoom slider in the lower left of the dopesheet is equivalent to Frame. There's no equivalent to Auto for the dopesheet, but you normally don't need to zoom in/out terribly often. Short animations fit in the dopesheet horizontally. Long animations may not, but then you'll want to control the zoom/pan manually for the dopesheet.

Alright got it. Thanks for the help Nate :nerd:
