RESOLVED
Hi! I've run into an issue updating/replacing existing spine assets in unity.
I have an existing Spine asset collection in Unity.
I want to update the assets with changes I've made to one or several of the animations so, after making said changes, I re-export the files to the same location I exported them before, overwriting those files in explorer.
Now, I want to import those updated assets into unity.
Now, Spine-Unity Documentation says this:
Re-export the assets from the Spine Editor and copy the exported files to your subfolder of your project's Assets folder again, overwriting the existing files.
However, when importing, unity/spine generates NEW assets instead of replacing the old ones.
Alternatively, I tried the other suggested method.
Unity sometimes fails to recognize file changes. In this case, locate the folder containing the Spine assets in Unity's Project panel that you want to re-import, right-click on the folder, then select Reimport from the context menu.
Unity says this, which makes me think that it worked:
However, I check the Skeleton Data in the inspector (in the animation previews) and my old animation is still displayed there, meaning my assets still haven't been overwritten. The new animation is absurd so I can quickly recognize any changes. Any attempt to impliment this animation in a Game Object will likewise display the old animation, so it's not just the previews.
I'm desperate to fix this. What am I doing wrong? Any help is enormously appreciated. Thank you.
